SINOPSIS

​

Remontada a 2.640 metros sobre el nivel del mar, en el corazón de los Andes, sobre ricas sabanas de más de 400.000 hectáreas, pertenecientes al antiguo reino de los Muiscas, fue fundada Bogotá, de la palabra chibcha «Bacatá», que significa "cercado fuera de la labranza", por el adelantado español, Gonzalo Jiménez de Quezada. Desde entonces esta ciudad de 8 millones de habitantes, se ha ido construyendo en torno a la migración y al desarrollo capitalista, lo cual origino una alta heterogeneidad y amalgama de diversas raíces socio-culturales, producto de la herencia indígena, española, el provincialismo y el culto a lo extranjero que, la hacen rica y diversa, en la oferta cultural que en diferentes grados de articulación, la ciudad ofrece.

At about 2,640 meters above sea level, in the heart of the Andes, on rich savannahs of more than 400,000 hectares, belonging to the ancient kingdom of the Muiscas, Bogota was been founded, from the Chibcha word "Bacatá", which means "Fenced out of tillage", by the Spanish forward, Gonzalo Jiménez de Quezada. Since then this 8 million people city has been built around migration and capitalism development, which has led to a high heterogeneity and amalgamation of diverse socio-cultural roots, as a product of the indigenous, Spanish heritage, provincialism and the cult to the foreigner, which makes it rich and diverse, in its cultural offer.
