EL CAMINO DEL CAFÉ
SINOPSIS
La leyenda del cultivo del café en Colombia señala al oriente, como el lugar de las primeras siembras. Concretamente en el Socorro Santander, hacia mediados del siglo XVI, cuando viajeros procedentes de las Guyanas, trajeron las primeras semillas al país, según el más antiguo testimonio, escrito por el cura jesuita José Gumilla, en su libro "El Orinoco Ilustrado" de 1830, así no los relata un cafetero de esa región oriental, aunque se reconozca al "Eje Cafetero", como la zona que representa al grano y su cultura.
Recorrimos los departamentos de Caldas, Risaralda y Quindío y conocimos la cultura cafetera, término que hace referencia a las raíces "paisas" y a las tradiciones de las gentes de esa región, de más de 100 años de historia, cuando llegaron las grandes migraciones antioqueñas a colonizar estas tierras. Destaca el programa, un paisaje de verdes colinas, de cafetales, exuberantes guaduales y bosques alucinantes de la majestuosa palma de cera, con arrieros, mulas y chapoleras que, son el atractivo de diferentes turistas.
THE ROAD OF COFFEE
The legend of coffee cultivation in Colombia points to the east as the site of the first sowings. Particularly in Socorro Santander, in the middle of the sixteenth century, when travelers from Guyana brought the first seeds to the country, according to the oldest testimony written by the Jesuit priest José Gumilla in his book "El Orinoco Ilustrado" in 1830, and told by a coffeemaker from that eastern region, we toured the departments of Caldas, Risaralda and Quindío and to knew the coffee culture, a term that refers to the "paisas" roots and to the traditions of the people of that region, with more than 100 years of history, when the great migrations arrived Antioqueans to colonize these earth. The program emphasizes a landscape of green hills, coffee plantations, exuberant guaduales and amazing forests of the majestic wax palm, with muleteers, mules and chapoleras that are the main attraction of different tourists.
